What’s the difference between residential and commercial garage doors?

Commercial doors are built heavier, with thicker steel gauges, larger torsion springs and tube assemblies, more robust hardware, and operators rated for thousands more cycles per year than residential doors. They’re also subject to additional code requirements depending on the application, including fire ratings (NFPA 80), wind ratings, and OSHA safety device requirements. Residential doors prioritize aesthetics and home integration; commercial doors prioritize uptime and security.

Do you only sell Clopay® garage doors?

We are an authorized Clopay® dealer, which gives us direct catalog access to the full Clopay residential and commercial line. We also install Amarr®, Overhead Door®, and Raynor doors for customers with brand preferences or specific needs that Clopay doesn’t cover. For openers, we install LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Linear, and other major brands.

How long does it take from the quote to the installation of the door?

For in-stock styles, expect about 2-3 weeks from signed quote to installed door, typically 1-2 weeks for the door to arrive at our shop and a few days to schedule the install. Custom doors stretch this to 4-6 weeks. Wood and faux-wood doors run the longest, often 6-8 weeks. We schedule the installation date only after your specific door physically arrives, so you never end up with a removal day without and replacement.

Can I just buy a garage door from you and install it myself?

We don’t sell doors without installation. Garage door installation is dangerous DIY territory because of the spring tension involved, and a poorly installed door can cause safety problems, void the manufacturer’s warranty, and typically cost more to remediate than a professional installation would have cost upfront. We’re happy to discuss your project, but every door we sell is installed by our team.

Yes. For new door installation and replacement, we provide a free in-home consultation that includes precise measurement of your existing opening, discussion of style and budget, samples and product information, and a written quote. There is no obligation to purchase after the consultation.
